How does offset printing work?
Offset printing is an indirect printing technique: this means that the sheet does not come into direct contact with the printing plate, but instead three cylinders are used. This process ensures exceptional print quality, especially in terms of color brightness and intensity.
Since a printing plate must be prepared for each print job, offset printing is not cost-effective for small print runs—generally fewer than about 500 copies. The setup costs are offset only when printing large quantities. For this reason, offset printing is typically used to produce materials such as flyers, business cards, leaflets, catalogues, and similar items.
